Shortest Lunch 2026
Shortest Lunch Returns To Tokar Estate This July
Winter in the Yarra Valley is about to get a whole lot warmer, with the return of the beloved Shortest Lunch across Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st of June 2026.
Bringing together some of the region’s most passionate family run wineries, this iconic winter festival is all about great wine, hearty food, live music and long lunches shared with friends and family.
At Tokar Estate, we’re excited to once again be part of the celebrations with a full weekend of winter indulgence set against sweeping vineyard views and cosy Yarra Valley charm.
This year we’ll be serving up a delicious American style BBQ menu by Jimmy’s Brisket, bringing low and slow smoked meats, comforting winter flavours and generous plates designed perfectly to pair with a glass of Tokar Estate wine. Expect smoky brisket, warming sides and relaxed winery dining made for cool June afternoons.
Throughout the weekend, guests can enjoy live music across the estate while tasting their way through our handcrafted range of wines. From bold reds perfect for winter through to elegant cool climate favourites, our cellar door team will be pouring tastings all weekend long.
Sunday will be especially family friendly, with a petting zoo for the kids to enjoy while parents settle in by the vineyard for a leisurely afternoon. With wide open lawns, outdoor seating, winter fire pits and a relaxed atmosphere, Tokar Estate is the perfect place to spend the day during the festival weekend.
The Shortest Lunch has become one of the Yarra Valley’s most loved annual events, giving visitors the chance to discover hidden gems across more than a dozen boutique wineries. Guests can enjoy wine tastings, live entertainment, exclusive cellar door specials and diverse food offerings ranging from homemade comfort food to premium regional produce.
Even better, a percentage of proceeds from this year’s event will once again support local community groups and organisations, continuing a tradition that has raised more than $100,000 for charities, schools and local causes since the festival began.
Entry tickets are $35 per person, or $29 for early bird bookings, and include free wine tastings across all participating wineries for both Saturday and Sunday, plus a souvenir tasting glass to take home.
Whether you’re planning a weekend escape with friends, a family outing or simply looking for the perfect excuse to explore the Yarra Valley this winter, we can’t wait to welcome you to Tokar Estate for an unforgettable Shortest Lunch weekend.
