Tokar Estate

2024 Rosé

$35.00

Vineyard

The fruit for our Rose came from our Estate Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon blocks. The fruit was grown on 25-28-year-old vines, these vines were spur-pruned with VSP trellising to ensure good fruit exposure to morning sunlight and airflow. The rosé fruit was harvested in the early morning whilst cool, a week before the balance came off for the red wine portion. This ensured great natural acidity and a moderate alcohol level.

Winemaking

The fruit was picked in the cool of the early morning and brought straight to the winery and direct tipped to be pressed immediately. This allows minimum colour pick-up and produces a light, clean, fruit-driven rosé. The juice was settled in tank for 24 hours before being racked and inoculated for a cool, slow fermentation. Fermenting at a cold temperature helps protect the fresh fruit/floral aromas, ensuring they make their way into the bottle.

Sensory Analysis

A lovely pale pink hue, the aroma is bright and fresh, reminiscent of summer berries and cherries. The palate has notes of blackcurrant with strawberries and cream with a delicate savoury note and a crisp dry finish. This is a fresh drink now style perfect to enjoy on a warm summer night.
