Set on our picturesque cellar door lawn in Coldstream, our casual winery weddings are ideal for couples wanting a fun, flexible and memorable celebration, complete with your favourite food truck, Tokar Estate wines, local beers, cocktails and plenty of space for music, dancing and mingling under the open sky.

Cellar Door

The venue

The Tokar Estate Cellar Door is a beautiful and flexible outdoor wedding venue in the Yarra Valley.

It is suited to weddings from a minimum of 40 guests, with capacity for up to 200 guests across open lawns, landscaped gardens and our 21-metre all-weather pergola with festoon lighting.

Centred around the cellar door and its striking marble bar, the space has a relaxed yet polished feel. Sweeping vineyard and mountain views create a stunning backdrop for ceremonies, photos and celebrations.

The venue also offers flexibility to hire a marquee of almost any size, allowing the layout to be tailored to suit your guest numbers and style of celebration.

With a dedicated food truck area and plenty of room for guests to mingle, dine and dance, the cellar door is perfectly suited to casual, cocktail-style weddings with a festival-inspired atmosphere.

Beverages for cellar door weddings are provided by Tokar Estate, with flexible options to suit the style of your day.

Cocktail and spritz bar options can also be added to create a fun, relaxed feel for guests on the lawn.

Otherwise, the choice is yours. Love a woodfired pizza van, taco truck, burger van or something completely different? Book it in and create a food experience that feels like you.

Want more than one food supplier? Go for it.

The beauty of a cellar door wedding is the freedom to bring together a vison that feels completely your own. We can help manage the bump in if you would like to add a grazing table fit for Instagram, an ice cream cart for post dinner treats, or a donut van for an indulgent finish.

The Ceremony

Stunning locations to say i do

For couples wanting a beautiful outdoor ceremony, our garden ceremony space offers a stunning lawn setting with gentle elevation. Guests can sit comfortably and enjoy the moment with vineyard and mountain views as the backdrop.

This separate ceremony area creates a lovely flow to the day. After the ceremony, guests can move up to the cellar door lawn for drinks, food and celebrations.

Couples can also choose to hold the ceremony directly on the cellar door lawn. This is a great option for those wanting to keep everything in one relaxed location.

Ceremony hire includes:
 -Early bump in for ceremony set up
- 30 chairs, or set up of hired white chairs (through our external supplier)
 -Glass of sparkling for the bride and groom
- Signing table with white upholstered chairs
- Two wine barrels at the altar

Ceremony fee of $750 applies.

Minimum spend is made up through Tokar Estate beverages, including bar tabs, beverage packages, cocktails, spritz options and non alcoholic drinks.

External food trucks, caterers and additional suppliers are arranged separately and are not included in the Tokar Estate minimum spend.

Helpful information

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do you offer seated receptions and Tokar Estate catering?
Yes. Seated wedding receptions are available in our restaurant, with a maximum capacity of 80 guests. Packages start from $200 per person and include one hour of canapés, a seated shared menu and a 5 hour beverage package.

Can I bring my dog?
Dogs are welcome for the ceremony only and must be arranged with prior notice.

What is the wedding duration and latest finish time?
All weddings include up to a 6 hour duration, generally from 5pm to 11pm. Adding an onsite ceremony allows an additional half hour.

Extensions may be available. Additional fees and a liquor licence extension application fee will apply.

Do you arrange the marquee?
Yes. You are welcome to arrange the marquee yourself, or we can manage this for you through our preferred supplier. We can assist with the full process from start to finish.

Is there parking onsite?
Yes. We have onsite car parking available. For larger weddings over 100 guests, we can also arrange an overflow parking zone.

Do you have accommodation onsite?
Unfortunately, onsite accommodation is no longer available for booking. There are plenty of accommodation options nearby, including Airbnbs, local cottages and properties along Maddens Lane.

Is there a bridal retreat?
No. We do not currently have a bridal retreat available onsite.

Do you offer wedding recovery events?
Absolutely. We can host wedding recoveries on the restaurant deck or at the cellar door, even if your wedding is not held at Tokar Estate.

Recovery events can include platters, pastries, sweet treats and drinks, creating a relaxed way to continue the celebrations the next day.
